LOTUS LASER WORKS

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take?

Glocks are currently at 2 days, hammer fired pistols are 3 and most 2011’s are at 4. Slide engravings will add another 2 days and any custom work will be estimated.

How do I mail my slide in?

After placing your order, you’ll be responsible for mailing it in, so be sure to pack it well, preferably in a box. We’ll need your slide, barrel & guide rod to position the barrel correctly. We’ll strip the slide down if needed, including optics. Mailing address:

Whitehall, PA 18052

Can you refinish?

Not yet, but our cuts are clean enough to not require a refinish in 9/10 cases. We deburr, polish and blue the exposed steel, then seal with oil. This is the industry standard and yields a long-lasting finish that won’t rust. If harsh solvents such as alcohol or acetone is used, you’ll have to recoat with your choice of oil. Cerakoted slides will most likely need to be refinished due to the heat soak. Unfinished stainless steel barrels will show discoloration as well.

Can you do a Glock XX?

They’re all the same gun, so yes lol.

Can you do the Glock C-Ports

Yes, but it’ll look a little different since Glock mills into the corners, while we can’t.

Can you do 2011’s?

Yes, but because of the increased thickness of the slide and barrel, it’s an extra $100.

“I feel like its 99% of what the ramjet was, just the ramjet being at the tip of the gun i feel like mitigation is slightly better, but very flat shooting”

Benefits of porting:

  • No extra hardware to deal with

  • Same holster compatibility

  • Drastic decrease in muzzle rise

Drawbacks of porting:

  • Significantly louder to the shooter

  • Permanent modification to your slide & barrel

  • 5-10% Muzzle velocity loss

  • Slight accuracy loss

Please choose your port options below and if you need a window cut on the slide. For slides with pre-cut windows, please message us. You will be responsible for shipping your slide and barrel to us. Porting Recommendations

Super Size - 1.5-2x the port size for even more aggressive recoil reduction.

Sub-compacts (i.e, Glock 43, Sig P365) Chunk or double port right at the very end will eliminate most of the snappiness with a very sharp vent right as the bullet leaves the barrel.

Compacts (i.e, Glock 19, RXM, P365XL, Fuse) Double port if you plan on carrying it. A standard straight 4 will give you a smooth and reliable shooting experience.

Standard (i.e, Glock 17, M&P 9 2.0, PDP) Super Sized Straight 4 or a Straight 6. Super sized 6’s work out of a Glock 17 with the stock spring and 124gr.

Jumbo (i.e Glock 34, 17L, PDP Pro, M&P 9 5”) Standard Straight 6 is the way to go. Super Sized Straight 6 if you’re comfortable tuning the recoil spring.

DISCLAIMERS

Please note that this is a permanent modification to your firearm parts and while we have plenty of happy customers, there are no warranties or guarantees are expressed or implied. There is always a chance of injury with anything firearms related. Please wear protective equipment at all times while on the range.

There is a chance you may need to tune your firearm’s recoil spring and/or ammo to cycle reliably. We test our ports with 124gr 9mm ammunition and unless expressly stated, all of our firearms operated with the factory spring in each respective model.

In the event we mess up your parts, we’ll reach out to remedy the situation. While the laser is very precise, the cut still requires deburring and finishing. Our finishing process is all done by hand which will result in some human imperfections. We like to refer to this as, “character” If you prefer machine cut ports, please reach out to your local machinist!

Please note that we do not currently offer refinishing services at this time. Your cut metal will be blued, which will darken the bright, fresh metal and sealed with oil to prevent corrosion. This is the standard practice in gunsmithing. Some Cerakote finishes may discolor from the heat. Unfinished stainless steel barrels will show discoloration as well.
